My memoir, Drive All Night, tells the true story of a folksinger on tour, from taking off my shirt for Amy Ray to learning about bunny boots in Alaska. Want a sample chapter? Read it here. Buy it from Bella Books, your favorite indie bookstore or at one of my concerts.
It’s getting some wonderful press! The Advocate calls it a “must read.” I was on the front page of the Durham Herald in July 2014. In June, it was featured in the Independent of Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill, NC; I talk about the f-word and admit I can play punk. Award-winning lesbian playwright Carolyn Cage called me a bad ass in her review. Ottawa’s Xtra had some fun things to say about me and the book, too. The Windy City Times in Chicago published something in June. (Please note, though, that I haven’t toured with everyone they say I have. I do, however, talk about some of them in my book.) On Amazon, readers have said the book is “a joy to read” (Alicia S) and “(it) has a lot going for it” (S. Shelton).
